Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are identical in design to Peltier elements. In contrast to the Peltier effect, the Seebeck effect is used to generate electrical energy directly from a temperature difference applied to the element. (This is not the reverse of the Peltier effect! Both effects always work at the same time and cannot be physically separated from each other).
