Fully assembled modules or spectrometers save time, but it is only by assembling individual components yourself, right down to the »last screw«, that you can really understand how a device works. In addition, various components can be produced in-house, for example using a 3D printer. In this way, modifications are also possible in order to optimally adapt components to the planned task.
